We are looking for undergraduate students to join our Basildon head office and plant for a 12-month placement in Vehicle and Structural Testing, starting in July-August 2025. This role focuses on developing New Holland and Case IH tractors to achieve engineering targets for performance, quality, and reliability. Key Responsibilities and Testing Activities: Support the Product Validation team with vehicle, component, and structural testing, ensuring all testing meets industry standards. Prepare vehicles, components, and subassemblies for testing, including installation of necessary instrumentation. Set up and run lab or test track-based testing, including: Full vehicle durability and fatigue testing of major components Functional and durability tests of ancillary components Testing of hitches, drawbars, and linkages Exhaust systems testing and strain gauge applications Measurement of temperatures, pressures, and other parameters Calibration of test systems and transducers Functional measurements of brakes, hydraulics, and PTO performance Noise and vibration measurement Analyse and interpret acquired test data, investigating and reporting on test concerns and results. Assist with workshop activities, prototype builds, and parts identification. Job Requirements and Qualifications: Enthusiastic candidates with good oral and written communication skills. Pursuing a degree in mechanical, automotive, agricultural engineering, or a related field. Prior experience with agricultural equipment or basic workshop tools is beneficial but not essential. High standard of computer literacy. Full UK driving license. Flexibility to travel to dealers, suppliers, or test sites as needed.
