Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced SEN teaching professional to join our team as an Academic Mentor for vulnerable learners in West Yorkshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), or other Additional Educational Needs referred to us by local authorities and schools.
Key Responsibilities:
* Planning and delivering flexible and holistic trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring sessions
* Collaborating with our SEN/SEND Support Team to ensure seamless placement success for the young person
* Communicating effectively with parents, carers, and other stakeholders to promote a supportive learning environment
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you must possess:
* Professional Teaching Qualifications (Qualified Teacher Status/QTS/QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Proven expertise in working with students with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or other Additional Educational Needs
* Enhanced DBS clearance
* Able to work in a way that promotes the health, safety, and wellbeing of children and young people, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures
