Job summary The role of the Practice Educator is to support the training and professional development of all staff and students working within the children community nursing Service, to ensure that nursing care and delivery is updated and implemented in line with evidence-based, best practice to enable patients to receive high quality, safe and dignified care. The post holder will work collaboratively with the band 7 Clinical Managers and support the Senior Nurses to create an effective learning environment within the neonatal environment with the principle aims being: Main duties of the job Together with the Practice Development Team, take responsibility for the organisation, delivery, management and review of all education programmes and training within children community Service. Maintain personal clinical skills and in-depth nursing knowledge. To act as an 'on the spot' resource and a role model of professional competence. Support all staff and students working within Children community l services. To help support the further development and delivery of a comprehensive induction and training programme for all new staff joining the Service. Teach, facilitate, supervise and assess new and existing staff and students and assist in their professional development. Provide feedback on curriculum issues relating to learning and teaching in the placement areas. Take responsibility for the maintenance of a database to monitor staff compliance with local and national training agendas. Developing and implementing quality and risk management initiatives that improve the services for children, young people and their families.
