We are currently hiring for an Engineering Team Leader in our Ossett site to lead a team of 3 engineers on shift. This is a hands-on role, managing and participating in all aspects of the day-to-day maintenance of the site, working a 12-hour shift pattern on a mixture of days and nights. Overtime will be available.
What will I be doing?
Leadership:
* Work closely with Production Team Leads/Managers to deliver high-quality engineering support to meet operational targets.
* Supervise and coordinate engineering support activities for manufacturing operations.
* Achieve team KPIs related to equipment performance, reliability, and maintenance.
* Coach and develop the engineering team on safe working practices and fault diagnosis.
* Plan and coordinate team resources to complete work efficiently.
* Motivate and manage team activities to meet performance targets, and identify development needs.
* Participate in Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing activities.
* Support other teams/departments as needed, demonstrating company values.
* Manage non-conformance and corrective actions to ensure compliance.
Hands-on:
* Attend to reactive maintenance requirements.
* Assist in developing PPM systems and scheduling maintenance.
* Perform operational tasks in compliance with legislation and company procedures.
* Diagnose, repair, and maintain production machinery.
* Work with production staff to communicate problems effectively.
* Ensure high line availability by reducing downtime.
* Conduct effective root cause analysis.
* Control maintenance tools, stores, and equipment.
* Contribute to site continuous improvement.
What do I need to be successful?
We seek candidates with the right competencies and a proven track record in similar environments, including:
* Experience in an FMCG environment.
* Apprenticeship in an engineering discipline, with relevant HND/HNC/BTech or equivalent experience.
* Strong fault-finding skills.
* PLC fault diagnosis (desirable).
* Team leadership experience (beneficial but not required).
