Warehouse Supervisor - Contract 6 months
Location: Hamble-le-rice Southampton

Shift: Mon-Thurs: 07:00-15:30 or 08:00-16:30, Fri: 07:00-12:00 or 08:00-13:00 (37-hour week)

Role Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and self-driven Warehouse Supervisor to join our logistics team! In this role, you will lead a team of warehouse operatives to ensure the efficient receiving, storing, and dispatching of goods while maintaining accurate inventory records. You will be at the forefront of maintaining and improving warehouse processes, ensuring the smooth running of daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety): Promote a safe and compliant workplace, ensuring adherence to all safety standards, and reporting incidents promptly.
Time & Attendance: Accurately manage time clocking and job bookings for all warehouse staff.
Housekeeping: Maintain clean and organized workstations, ensuring tools and equipment are stored correctly.
Quality Control: Ensure compliance with quality standards and processes to reduce waste and ensure high standards of performance.
Cost Management: Support initiatives to minimize unnecessary expenditure and maximize operational efficiency.
Training & Development: Stay up-to-date with training and certifications, ensuring all knowledge is current and applicable.
Team Collaboration: Actively participate in team meetings, share knowledge, and mentor new staff members when needed.
Performance & Support: Provide ongoing performance reviews, coaching, and feedback to your team to foster continuous improvement.
Warehouse Operations: Supervise the daily activities of the warehouse, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment, stock handling, and dispatching.
Process Improvement: Review and enhance warehouse procedures to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and improve inventory accuracy.
Role-Specific Duties:
Lead and supervise a team of warehouse operatives, allocating tasks, and ensuring deadlines are met.
Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching, and training.
Oversee daily activities to ensure smooth operational flow and that all orders are accurately picked, packed, and dispatched.
Maintain and update work instructions and procedures as needed.
Conduct safety audits and risk assessments, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Ensure efficient stock handling and material movement while maintaining accurate inventory.
Prepare reports on warehouse activities, team performance, and inventory levels.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Previous warehouse or logistics experience.
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
At least 2 years of leadership experience within a warehouse/logistics environment.
Awareness of industry-standard quality procedures.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Strong problem-solving skills with an eye for both detail and the bigger picture.
Comfortable in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment.
Health, Safety & Environment awareness and safe working practices knowledge.
Desired Qualifications:
Forklift certification.
Experience within Aerospace or composites materials.
Manufacturing background.
Security Clearance:
A Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required for this role. If BPSS clearance cannot be obtained, the offer may be withdrawn for national security reasons
