The working day can be very unpredictable, and you could find yourself spending the entire morning organizing activities and the afternoon providing 1:1 support.

1. Rate of Pay: £11.59-£12.23 per hour dependent with a £30.00 additional sleep-in rate
2. Gross annual pay based on full-time hours + 10 Sleep ins: £27,332 to £28,663 (dependent on experience/qualifications)

As a Children’s Residential Care Worker, you will be involved in all aspects of their everyday lives, and the positive impact you will have is immeasurable. You will be emotionally strong and driven to make a difference day to day. Most importantly, you will get to really understand our children and their backgrounds, ensuring that their needs are at the centre of everything we do. You will be approachable and detail-focused, ensuring that our children’s safety is assured at all times, and that all protocols and regulations are fully adhered to.
Shift Pattern: 16 to 24 Hour (including Sleep-in) on a one on two off or two on four off basis.
The young people in our care range between the ages of 8-18 years and have a range of behavioural and emotional needs.
Duties:
1. Delivering the highest quality care for our children
2. Offering guidance, support, and structure to their everyday lives
3. Supporting the young people to engage and access education
4. Promoting a healthy lifestyle and positive living choices
5. Accessing clinically led training to improve your skills and develop practice
6. Household duties
7. Record keeping and report writing
8. Days out (e.g. social events, shopping, cinema, swimming)
9. Contacts, visit, key work meetings, and therapy sessions
10. Providing transport for the young people to access different provisions
Requirements:
Desirable but not essential to hold: Full UK Driving Licence, NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare; Previous experience working in a therapeutic environment or therapeutic qualifications; Experience supporting and leading educational engagement; Previous leadership skills and qualifications; Higher level training and qualifications.
