Applicants must have a passion for meeting the holistic needs of learners with SEND and support the inclusion agenda. Applicants must be motivated, resilient practitioners, with a growth mindset who place learners at the heart of what they do, always seek ing to develop their practice and strive to ensure the best possible outcomes for all in our community. Applicants should have significant knowledge of working with children with ASC. At Springside we believe in supporting our learners to be independent, to enjoy every element of their lives, to achieve more than they can imagine and have a real sense of self-worth. We believe in challenging the we have always done it this way mind-set, together as a community. As such, we have created a Gateway learning team and welcome practitioners who will support learners to be Calm enough to engage and alert enough to learn. At present as a generic special school catering for 152 learners aged 4-11 years, we have 3 phases to ensure we provide a specialised and personalised curriculum. We have also opened 2 hubs hub to run alongside our finely tuned pathways. As such applicants should to be aware that Springside School delivers education across 3 sites and applicants may be required to work at any of these sites. Our Experiential Phase is predominantly for our learners with profound and multiple learning difficulties often alongside complex medical needs. In this phase activities and sessions are planned carefully to engage the learners so that areas of exploration, realisation, anticipation, persistence and initiation can be observed. Our Exploratory Phase is predominantly where our learners with social communication difficulties learn, which can present as behaviour which challenges us at times. In this phase developing the use of functional expressive communication is central to learning. Independence is always encouraged through a tiered system of adult modelling, sabotage and reducing adult support. Our Investigative Phase is predominantly where our learners who s learning difficulty is their primary need. Developing understanding and expression of feelings and emotions is central to learning, we offer a needs-based curriculum, where appropriate, using specific elements of the National Curriculum in a carefully tailored approach. Each utilising and developing learner s skills to encourage investigation, expression and independent learning. Each learners' capabilities are considered and individual needs are fully met, educationally, socially, emotionally and physically. We welcome applications from Mainstream and Special Schools.
