We are seeking a qualified, highly skilled and pro-active Financial Controller to oversee our financial operations. Reporting to the CEO, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management and accounting, with proficiency in Xero and Excel.
The Financial Controller will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, managing accounts payable, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the company's growth. This role is Home Based, Part-Time, 28 hours per week with a minimum of four hours every day, Monday to Friday. You should live within 20 miles of Berkhamsted, for convenience of attending company meetings.

We are now looking to recruit a Financial Controller to join us and play a crucial role in managing our business. The role is stand-alone, but you will work closely with the executive team to play your part in the development of the business.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Lead the Planning and Forecasting process and ensure that financial plans are consistent with the strategic objectives.
* Pro-actively support the Executive Team.
* Oversee the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
* Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping.
* Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
* Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
* Collaborate closely with the operations team to provide financial insights that support business decisions.
* Ensure compliance with tax regulations and oversee the preparation of tax returns.
* Proactively establish and maintain strong working relationships with key customers, partners, and other stakeholders.
* Work independently as required and meet deadlines.
* Support the development of internal IT Systems to improve efficiency and information, working closely with the IT development provider.
* Lead the preparation of quotations, RFPs, and tenders using personal and business experience to provide best value whilst optimizing profitability.

About You
You're an experienced finance professional looking for a part-time role to join a growing business and play an active part in its development over the next few years. You like to be part of a progressive and communicative team but are equally happy to work from the comfort of your own home. You have flexibility in your approach with an ability to be responsive as and when required to get the job done. You're happy to share knowledge and have the patience for those who may not speak fluently in the language of finance. You're open to learning, trying new things, and you have the ability to plan, look forward, and offer suggestions and solutions. An advantage would be that you can start in early January! Additionally, you will have:
* Five years plus demonstrable experience as a Financial Controller or similar role within a finance department.
* Strong knowledge of financial management principles and accounting practices.
* Proficiency in accounting Xero.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey complex financial information clearly.
* Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
* Solutions focused.
* Fully professionally qualified through CIMA; and ideally but not critical,
* Experience of working in a similar role in the hospitality industry.
