We are looking for a Freight Coordinator to be based at our Newcastle site (SR5 2TA). This role involves remote work of up to 3 days per week at home (subject to business requirements).
As a Freight Coordinator, you will be working as part of a team responsible for effective planning of shipments on behalf of the International Healthcare Control Tower’s Customers.
This is a full-time, permanent position offering a salary of £23,000 - £25,000 (depending on experience), and the working schedule is predominantly Monday – Friday, working 09:00 till 17:00.

Key Responsibilities:
* Acting as the direct contact between our customers and internal and external stakeholders, including carriers, where applicable.
* Overseeing agreed procedures as a control tower for Healthcare business.
* Ensuring costs received and debits raised are as per the agreed levels.
* Raising customer invoices.
* Ensuring all operations adhere to the route lane designs agreed and approved by quality managers within Yusen and the client.
* Support the Quality and Compliance team with investigations when needed.
* Producing required reports for management and clients where necessary.
* Conducting remote and site visits to clients and suppliers to ensure business reviews and continuous improvement processes.
* Engaging with the customer to meet their needs and expectations.
* Being the initial conduit for all bookings, queries, and finance-related issues for a portfolio of clients.
Key Requirements:
* Freight forwarding experience is preferred but not essential.
* Initiative-taking and flexible approach.
* Ability to prioritize and work under pressure.

* Ability to build strong relationships.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Strong numeracy/literacy skills.
* Proficiency in key Microsoft Office applications.
