Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Full-Time, Temporary with opportunity for permanent placement
Are you on the lookout for a new opportunity as a SEND Learning Support Assistant based in the Grays area? We are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant with a strong background in supporting students with a variety of SEN needs, including behavioural dysregulation. The successful candidate will be someone who is resilient, adaptable, and able to work effectively in a creative and dynamic environment.
We are looking for someone who can foster a positive and supportive atmosphere, helping students to achieve their full potential while managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours when necessary.
Job Duties:
* Support: Provide 1:1 support to students with SEN in a classroom setting.
* Assist teachers: Help implement individual education plans tailored to each student's specific needs.
* Behavioural Management: Use effective behaviour management techniques to support students with behavioural dysregulation, including positive reinforcement and de-escalation strategies.
* Monitor and assist: Supervise students during class activities, offering guidance on tasks and helping them understand instructions.
* Nurture positive relationships: Build strong relationships with teachers, parents, and other professionals, maintaining clear records of progress and challenges.
* Inclusive Environment: Contribute to creating a positive, inclusive learning environment that supports the social and academic integration of students.

Requirements:
* Right to work in the UK.
* Valid DBS check or willingness to apply for one.
* Prior experience working with students with special educational needs, including those with behavioural dysregulation.
* Understanding of various learning styles with the ability to adapt teaching methods accordingly.
* Strong behavioural management skills, with the ability to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours.
* Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach when working with students.
