Plus Lease car or cash alternative of £3,050 pa

Are you a dedicated Housing professional passionate about improving peoples’ lives?
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Service Lead for Housing Options and Allocations to join Ashford’s Senior Housing Management team. The successful candidate will lead the teams within general fund Housing including all policy and strategy work for letting policies and reduction of homelessness.
This role involves working with teams across the authority to deliver a high-quality service, responding to the ever-changing housing agenda and developing the aims of our Housing and Homelessness Strategies.
Key elements of the role:
* Managing specific operational and strategic portfolios.
* Identifying and implementing strategies that maximise the funding streams available to us, as well as embracing the commercial focus we now adopt.
* Performance monitoring and reporting, identifying best practice and driving a culture of continuous improvement.
* Managing and monitoring the performance of external contracts, which support the delivery of housing options and private sector housing.
You will need to be a strong and effective leader who champions corporate activities and initiatives and have a proven track record of:
* Management within a housing setting.
* Managing large budgets.
* Programme management experience.
* Understanding homelessness legislation, allocations and private sector housing.
* Communicating effectively at all levels of the organisation.
* Ability to interpret legislation and apply relevant case law, especially in context of formal reviews.
