In partnership with Applebough Education, we are seeking a passionate and skilled Level 3 Teaching Assistant with SEN experience to join our supportive team. Job Description: As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across all key stages. You will work closely with the class teacher to ensure that all students, particularly those with additional learning needs, receive the tailored support they need to succeed. Your role will involve supporting individuals and small groups, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment, and assisting in the delivery of lessons and interventions. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN, helping them access the curriculum and make progress Assist the class teacher ensuring all students' needs are met Support students with a range of learning disabilities, behavioral needs, and emotional difficulties Monitor and assess the progress of SEN students, providing feedback and suggestions for further development Assist with the preparation of learning resources and classroom activities Promote positive behavior and build students' self-esteem and confidence Work closely with the SENCo and other staff to implement individual learning plans (ILPs) and interventions Ensure a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where all students feel valued and encouraged Essential Requirements: Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) Previous experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) Strong understanding of SEN strategies and best practices Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with children, staff, and parents Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with additional learning needs Ability to work independently and as part of a team Desirable: Experience working with children with specific SEN needs (e.g., autism, ADHD, dyslexia) First Aid qualification Additional relevant training in SEN (e.g., Makaton, PECs, behaviour management)
