If so, this job may be just for you The Opportunity Exciting opportunity for an experienced M&E Electrical Engineer to report to the Engineering Lead within the Review & Acceptance Branch of the JDO, the post-holder will be an Electrical Engineer, contributing to the review and acceptance of engineering queries raised by the site Contractor on the electrical scope across the CI/BOP and Nuclear Island buildings. Your duties and responsibilities will be Responding to General Queries, Non-Conformances, Change Request, and Exemption Requests originating from the MEH Contractor on site, with the support of the Responsible Designer or site Experts when needed. Provide adequate oversight to ensure the Nuclear Safety and Environmental Regulation requirements are met. Challenge design decisions so that engineering and design aligns with the project strategy. Assist in co-ordinating support from other external organisations. Contribute to the resolution and closure of Open Points. Assess technical risk and subsequently address this risk Maintain a strong relationship with EDF EPR EngineeringYou will have the following qualifications & experience Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline. Experience in electrical design, installation and/or commissioning. Experience applying multi-disciplinary technical knowledge within the nuclear industry. Knowledge of the construction / installation industry. Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation including CDM and Nuclear Site License requirements. Experience in the understanding of welding engineering. Ability to influence a diverse range of stakeholders, particularly those in a site environment. Ability to work independently, be pro-active, report on and escalate relevant issues.It’s great if you also have the following Experience in the Nuclear / Defence sectorThe setting for the role Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a nuclear licenced site. These can include, nuclear fuel, radiation, chemicals and gasses, high voltage equipment, moving vehicles, flammable materials, high pressure circuits, steam, high noise and vibration levels. A full site induction will be provided and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the site.
