GSL Education are looking for a dedicated Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) Teaching Assistant to join our client school in Sleaford .
As an Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities of an SEMH Teaching Assistant :
* Provide one-on-one and group support to students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
* Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities.
* Help to create a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment.
* Support students in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour.
* Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
* Foster strong relationships with students, encouraging their confidence and self-esteem.
Requirements:
* Experience working as an SEMH Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
* Relevant qualifications such as CACHE or NVQ would be a plus but not must.
* A strong understanding of social, emotional, and mental health needs.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to build trusting relationships with students and staff.
* Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
* Relevant qualifications in education or child development are desirable.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
* Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
