As the Assistant Accountant, you will be managing sales invoicing, credit control, and cash flow forecasting while ensuring smooth month-end processes. Handle management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and statutory reporting. Keep cash books in check, resolve customer queries, and raise credits—all within Microsoft Business Central. Support purchase ledger and general accounting duties, stepping in for holiday cover when needed. Be the backbone of financial operations and keep the numbers running like clockwork!

What you’ll do
* Sales invoicing process.
* Credit Control and assisting with cashflow forecasting.
* Preparation of management accounts.
* Cash book management onto Microsoft Business Central system.
* Dealing with queries and raising credits for customers.
* Helping with other general account duties and support when required including holiday cover.
* Create journals for entry into Business Central at month-end.
* Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
* Support purchase ledger with holiday cover (Business Central system).
* Preparation of statutory accounts and tax returns.
Who you are
* Recent Sales/Purchase Ledger experience.
* Attention to detail & adaptable to a varied & fluctuating workload.
* Excellent customer service & communication skills.
* Good IT skills - Excel experience is essential.
* Hold an accounting qualification or studying towards e.g., AAT Level 3 or above or ACCA/CIMA.
