Our National Innovation & Capital Tax Reliefs Team works with a range of companies, from start-ups to multinationals, to assist them in the preparation of claims for Research & Development tax relief. We work with companies across all sectors, most notably manufacturing, engineering, life sciences, software, and digital technologies to assist them in identifying and preparing successful tax relief claims. This is an exciting opportunity for an Innovation Reliefs Associate Director to work in an actively growing, specialist Innovation Reliefs tax team at RSM. This role can be based in any of our Southern region offices (Bristol, Gatwick, Guildford, Reading, or Southampton).
You will make an impact by:
* Developing claim methodologies and managing the preparation of R&D tax relief claims for submission to HMRC.
* Leading interviews with clients’ technical and finance teams to advise on the R&D tax relief and to assist with the identification of qualifying R&D activities and expenditure.
* Demonstrating your expertise in writing technical descriptions of the client’s projects to include in the reports.
* Identifying, leading on, and progressing business development opportunities, pitching for work with both new and existing clients.

* Experience in preparing and submitting R&D tax relief claims in all sectors (experience of making patent box claims would be desirable but not essential).
* Strong level of tax technical knowledge of the UK’s R&D tax incentives.
* Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
* Clear and concise writing style.
* Ability to make claims within SME and RDEC regimes, and capability to assess group size.
