We are looking for a Project Engineer APQP for a 12 Month contract based in Derby on behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs.
Purpose of the Role:
This positions sits in a global Supplier Manufacturing Engineering team covering the Civil, Business Aviation and Defence sectors. It will be based on our client's Derby site 3 days per week, with the rest of the time spent remote working. The APQP Project Engineer will be responsible for industrialisation processes from a quality perspective.
The APQP Project Engineer will be accountable for the delivery of APQP activities across a range of suppliers and commodities or driving business critical activities from a quality perspective. Covering all elements of the manufacturing product life cycle form a quality perspective, from new product introduction through to mature component cost reduction and improvement programmes.
As a APQP Project Engineer you will be responsible for:
* Technical: Develop, implement, validate, maintain, and continuously improve quality processes and / or methods of manufacture in the supply chain / to ensure capability to meet and continue to meet requirements for safety, quality, cost, delivery rate and lead-time
* Product Definition: Capture, analyse and use data to demonstrate and improve the current and future capability of manufacturing processes and identification of improvement opportunities.
* Collaboration: Proactively accesses internal and external networks of technical communities and functional teams, quality, design and project engineering, to ensure fulfilment and realisation of the product intent.
* Problem Solving: Support the investigation and resolution of product and supplier technical problems with the application and use of appropriate tools.
* Strategy: Identify and develop opportunities for new or improved quality processes and technologies to meet or exceed current or future requirements.
What we require from the candidate:
* Experience as a Project Engineer implementing APQP frameworks; ideally in aerospace but will also consider other backgrounds
* Significant knowledge in Quality Management Systems - PPAP, APQP and NPI
* Communication and stakeholder management skills with a strong positive attitude
* Experience with Net-Inspect
