The maintenance technician is tasked with supporting the production department daily. Working with other team members cleaning and servicing injection moulding tools with timely turnaround to maintain production schedules. The cleaning and servicing of the injection moulding tools requires good attention to detail and quality of workmanship that are vital to this role. In addition to this, the role will support the production departments working with production technicians to perform weekly and monthly preventative maintenance on production machines and equipment across the production facility.
What You'll Be Doing
1. Servicing and cleaning injection mould tools, stripping them down for cleaning, inspecting for issues, reporting any found, reassembling the tools after servicing, and returning the tools to the production department.
2. Carrying out repairs, maintenance, and calibration of tools, jigs, fixtures, and instruments as required.
3. Conducting machine inspections and servicing, including reporting and diagnosing machine breakdowns, routine servicing including filter changes, belts, lubrication of mechanical assemblies, electro-pneumatic systems, and maintaining cooling systems with pumps and water heaters.
4. Daily servicing & cleaning of mould tools in the tool room or in the factory.
5. Documenting service & repair work by completing electronic records, including photographs of documented issues.
6. Supporting production by completing cleans or repairs in the clean room factory on the mould tools.
7. Carrying out cleaning and servicing on other toolroom and production equipment as required.
8. Assisting in equipment repairs and breakdowns if required.
9. Working across all production departments carrying out basic maintenance and servicing of production machines and equipment.
10. Recording and maintaining service records and documentation.
11. Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
What You'll Bring
1. You will hold a C&G's, NVQ or be Apprenticeship trained.
2. Solid experience in mechanical and electrical assembly & disassembly, fault finding, and wiring.
3. Ability to read and understand 2D component drawings; experience with wiring drawings is also advantageous.
4. Core computer skills using email, Excel, and Word documents.
5. Ability to work in a small team with good communication & cooperation.
6. Ability to work under pressure and keep to deadlines.
7. Ability to adapt to change and maintain a positive attitude with a focus on continuous improvement.
