-Experience of working with Orthotics and Orthotic IT systems -To communicate effectively with other staff in the team and liaise where appropriate with colleagues from other disciplines and outside agencies.- To communicate effectively with clients, patients and carers, consistent to their level of understanding, personal preference, culture and background; ensuring their views are heard and acted upon whenever possible.- To ensure sensitivity is shown, confidentiality assured and patient dignity maintained at all times.To demonstrate listening skills and deal sensitively with any individual concerns.- To carry out general computer duties required in the day to day running of the administration and reception within the Orthotic Department.- To undertake general administrative duties including ordering and invoicing supplies, processing patient referrals, input client data to maintain up-to-date and accurate records.- To arrange appointments for clinic consultations.- To liaise with the wider multidisciplinary team as appropriate to ensure effective communication takes place at all times.- To ensure confidentiality of all patient and staff related matters at all times.- To act as a source of general advice and information to users/carers and members of the public on the provision of the service and related issues.- To measure and fit certain items e.g. wrist splints in the Orthotic Service at the request of GPs and consultants.
