Job Title: Family Household Support Worker (Intensive Resettlement Support) Location: Edinburgh Contract: 3 months temporary, potentially longer Pay: £14.26p/h PAYE About the Role: 21 Health and Social Care is excited to recruit a compassionate and proactive Family Household Support Worker to be part of a new pilot project aimed at supporting individuals and families transitioning from temporary accommodation into long-term tenancies. This role will focus on intensive resettlement support for people at risk of homelessness, helping them to successfully establish and sustain their new homes. This pilot project is designed to provide hands-on, tailored support to empower individuals and families to regain stability, independence, and security in their own homes, ensuring they have the tools and resources needed for a smooth transition. Key Responsibilities: Resettlement Support: Provide comprehensive and practical support to individuals and families moving from temporary accommodation to permanent tenancies, helping them set up their new homes, from organising utilities to ensuring the property is equipped with essentials. Household Management: Assist clients in developing household management skills, such as budgeting, meal planning, and maintaining their home, ensuring long-term tenancy sustainability. Emotional and Social Support: Build trusting relationships with service users, offering emotional support and guidance throughout the transition process, and helping them access additional services where required. Partnership Working: Collaborate with housing services, local authorities, and other support agencies to ensure service users receive well-rounded and coordinated support. Crisis Intervention: Act as a key contact during times of difficulty, supporting service users with problem-solving and connecting them with appropriate emergency resources. Monitoring and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of service users' progress and provide reports on outcomes of the pilot project, highlighting successes and areas for development. Requirements: Experience: Previous experience working with individuals or families facing homelessness, or within housing support or resettlement services. Qualifications: You must have your SVQ 3 in Health in Social Care or the willingness to work towards it. Full Driving Licence: Due to the nature of the role, having access to a car is desirable, but not essential.
