Role Responsibilities As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will: Provide one-to-one support for a pupil with additional learning needs, such as Autism, ADHD, or other developmental challenges. Work closely with the class teacher to tailor learning materials and activities to the pupil’s unique requirements. Facilitate the pupil’s social integration and encourage participation in group activities. Monitor and document progress, offering regular updates to the class teacher, SENCO, and parents. Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment for all students. Ensure adherence to the school’s safeguarding and child protection policies to maintain student safety and well-being. About You Essential Skills and Experience: Experience supporting children with SEN in a school or childcare setting. A strong understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental or learning needs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with students, colleagues, and families. Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to the pupil’s individual learning style. A team-player mindset, ready to collaborate with staff and contribute to the school community. Desirable Skills and Experience: Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of effective behaviour management strategies.
