Your new role As an KS1 Phase Leader, you will play a key role in delivering high quality education to the young learners. You will lead and support other staff in the KS1 team, ensuring a smooth transition between years. You will communicate effectively with parents and carers, and involve them in their children's learning. You will also contribute to the school's vision, values and ethos, and uphold its policies and procedures. You will work closely with the Headteacher and other senior leaders to achieve the school's goals and objectives.
* Recognising and modelling high quality KS1 practice for others * Keeping pupils safe, including child protection and forming and maintaining appropriate relationships * Creating and maintaining a safe, happy, stimulating and well-organised classroom and phase * Undertaking high quality observations of young children's learning and development * Planning and delivering lessons to meet the needs of all learners across all areas of their development * Maintaining high standards of behaviour and excellent discipline using positive strategies * Leading other adults as well as working collaboratively as part of a team * Training, supporting and challenging others when necessary * Communicating effectively both orally and in writing
What you'll need to succeed
* A degree and Qualified Teacher Status * A specialism in KS1 or 3-8 years * Evidence of continuous INSET and commitment to further professional development * At least three years of class teaching experience in the Year 1 or 2 classes within a primary school * Experience of working with speakers of English as an Additional Language * Experience of successfully leading others, in some capacity * Knowledge of the Statutory Framework for the Key Stage 1 Stage * Knowledge of Development Matters * Knowledge and understanding of assessment for learning * Knowledge and understanding of how young children learn best, including through play * An understanding of the role of parents/carers in improving attainment and experience of working directly with parents/carers * A DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK
