We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Doncaster, a category B local resettlement prison situated in South Yorkshire. Doncaster houses a male population of up to 1145 individuals, approximately 200 of whom are young offenders aged 18-20.
In this role, you'll be working with a multi-disciplinary team that will support you and help you succeed.
Hours: Monday to Sunday - 08:00 to 18:30. There is an expectation to work a maximum of 2 weekends per month.
Salary: This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to £40,211 per annum - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Carry out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options.
* Assess patient's health needs and be able to risk assess using sound clinical knowledge.
* Provide advice, support, and information and manage a caseload of patients.
* Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference.
* Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects liaising with prescribers as required.
* Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders.

Qualifications required:
* NMC Registered Mental Health Nurse
* Evidence of Continued Professional Development
* Experience of working with patients, face to face, who have complex mental health conditions
* Experience of psychosocial interventions, group work, and awareness of substance misuse
Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community, or prison environment.
