Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role: This is a brand new purpose-built service for 5 individuals. We require Advanced Support Workers who have experience with adults with a learning disability. You would require to follow support plans as consistency and routine are very import. We require support 24 hours a day, 2:1 staffing initially but we hope will change as the individuals settle in their new homes. We also require Waken Night staff but again we are hoping this will change to sleepovers or potentially smart tech though the night as they become comfortable in their new homes. Shift patters are likely to be 7am to 3pm, 3pm to 10pm and 10pm to 7am. As staff settles there will be potential for longer or short shifts. Some of the activities they like to do are walking, cycling, arts and crafts, baking and cooking, going out shopping, going out to pubs and restaurants, swimming and the gym. They also like going to the cinema, playing pool, tabletop activities, listening to music and generally having fun and having a laugh. Your values: The ideal candidate will have a Level 3 in Social Care and strong experience in mental health, autism and sensory communication, and physical health. If you do not have a qualification, you will need to have experience in social care. You will know how to connect with people and be passionate about supporting people to live independently. You will also be a brilliant mentor and share your skills and experiences with your colleagues. We will develop your talents with a range of specialist training, including the opportunity to learn Positive Behaviour Support methods, Makaton and the Picture Exchange System. During recruitment you will meet the people we support in their home. This will allow you to see their wonderful personalities first-hand and fully understand the level of support that they require.
