The Company: We provide residential childcare services, supporting children and young people with learning disabilities, autism, additional and complex needs and associated challenging behaviours. The Role:
As a Senior Residential Support Worker you will be required to provide high standards of care and support which meets the physical, emotional, behavioural, social, cultural and educational needs of the Children and Young People. In addition, you will supervise the staff team on shift, leading by example to ensure they provide high quality of care as well as assisting and supporting the manager to run the service in line with standards and legislation.
Other duties include:
* Assisting and encouraging people to engage in everyday home, social and leisure activities
* Completing daily tasks within the home including budgeting and domestic duties
* Supporting young people out in the community and on activities such as swimming, youth clubs, walking, cinema or anything they desire
* Supporting young people with their health needs as required including the administration of medication, peg feeding, moving and handling
* Providing full personal care
* Keeping accurate and up to date records
* Working positively with colleagues, families and external organisations and professionals
* Participating in learning and development opportunities as required
* Supervising staff
* Administrative duties
* Undertaking on call duties
The pay rate is: £14.10 per hour (dependant on qualification) plus sleeps and on call payments.
Contracted Hours: 39 hours per week basic. (Sleeps and on call duties are in addition)
The role involves shift work (including mainly evenings, weekends, also includes earlies and days) plus sleeps. On call duties are required for this role.
To be considered for this role you will need:
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent is essential
* Experience of working in a care setting supporting children & young people
* Experience of supporting people with a learning disability/ autism
* Supervisory experience in a care setting
* Clear and effective communication (verbal and written)
* Flexible approach and good organisation skills are required
* A full UK driving license is required
