The open position is for a Quality Assurance Lead in the hydro generator manufacturing group. The team is responsible for the manufacturing of large hydro generator components, with a primary focus on North American generator projects. This position involves quality control at all stages throughout the manufacturing process, as well as technical support and performance of high voltage and lifecycle testing. They will be accountable for the implementation and maintenance of quality control procedures. They will propose creative solutions to new and existing projects and ensure a consistent and reliable inspection process. They will be the champion of continuous improvement and quality assurance.

RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ensure delivery of product quality to customers
2. Ensure implementation of the quality requirements and standards
3. Management of the hold tag process on the shop floor
4. Management of Electrical testing process
5. R&D support in testing Lab
6. Management of calibration for measuring equipment
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
* Establish, review, and improve quality control processes and procedures to ensure they align with industry standards and company policies.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO standards, FDA regulations, etc.).
* Supervision of shift QC inspectors
* Review all technical specifications for contracts
* Preparation and Implementation of project specific ITPs
* Implementation of the Inspections & Tests according to ITP
* Issuance of inspections and tests instructions and protocols
* Final Quality Release for shipment
* Escalate major quality issues to Quality Manager
* Final Quality Documentation (completed ITP)
* Implementation of in-process quality control plan
* Implementation of first-piece qualification in cooperation with R&D and manufacturing
* Electrical testing setup in winding shop and troubleshooting equipment
* NCR reporting in ASAP
* Implementation of electrical testing set-up
* Management of calibration of measuring equipment
* Prepare and communicate trend analysis and KPI reporting
* Creation and updating of weekly production cockpits
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES
* Diploma or degree in a related technical field, ideally Electrical
* Interpret technical drawings
* Ability to perform data analysis for tests performed
* Ability to execute Root Cause analyses
* Experience interfacing with customer representatives
* Fluency in English (oral & written)
* Intermediate Microsoft Word & Excel
* Strong communication skills (oral & written)
* Knowledge of and experience in application of the following test standards is an asset:
o IEEE 286
o IEEE 522
o IEEE 1043
o IEEE 1310
o IEEE 1553
o IEEE 1799
