An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the North Devon Coast National Landscape supporting communities to record and enhance the terrestrial species and habitats of North Devon. The ‘Finding Nature’s Footprints’ project is supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, and requires an enthusiastic, confident and organised person. Tasks include providing advice on actions for nature, organising training and citizen science activities/events, connecting a diverse range of audiences with nature and managing a project assistant and volunteers.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level in a relevant environmental discipline or have equivalent experience, with some knowledge of English habitats, species and biological data recording methods. A passion for working with the public, connecting people with nature and sharing knowledge with all ages and abilities is essential. Training will be provided.
The appointee will be employed by project partner North Devon Voluntary Services and work primarily from the National Landscape team’s office in Barnstaple.
