As a Head of Operations for AQA, you will have visionary leadership of the Materials & Logistics department. You will also be a key voice and contributor to the Operations Senior Leadership team.
In this role, you will be accountable for all aspects of the Materials & Logistics functions, including being the senior Operations presence when required in our Milton Keynes office; setting the direction, then holding accountable the Materials & Logistics teams to ensure the timely, efficient, and quality execution of all processes required for AQA to deliver exemplary levels of service.

What you’ll be doing:
* People management: Manage the teams in your directorate, including resource and capacity planning.
* Uphold the values and behaviours agreed to deliver operational excellence within an interdependent culture.
* Financial Management: Be responsible for the overall control of the operational costs of the departments.
* Risk Management: Participate in the identification, assessment, planning and management of threats and opportunities as appropriate.
* Asset management: Ensure that AQA provided tools, materials, systems, software are used in line with company policies and procedures.
* Stakeholder Management: Ensure all stakeholders are advised of all relevant matters in a timely way. Ensure all reports are sufficiently comprehensive and presented on time.
* Plan and support the delivery of timely, accurate and secure examination services, achieving quality targets and continuously improving customer confidence in AQA.
* Coach and develop the Operations team, to ensure they have the capability, confidence, and team ethos to successfully deliver examination and related services and broader Operations accountabilities.
What you’ll need to succeed:
* Progressive leadership experience ideally with a logistics background.
* Strategic mindset with experience defining operational strategies.
* Extensive experience working with multiple diverse stakeholders, often with competing priorities.
* Data-driven with expertise in analysing complex information but also able to deal with ambiguous issues and present both in an easily understood way to a wide audience.
* Experience of leading, influencing and coaching in a matrix style approach to fully support the delivery of operational processes and deliverables.
* Attention to detail with an understanding of industry standards and regulations and the ability to ensure these are upheld whilst driving and delivering transformational change.
