Job summary Exciting opportunity to work in a busy GP practice as part of the established admin team providing day to day reception and admin support for the GPs, Nurses, Pharmacists and other primary care staff to ensure smooth running of the practice and facilitate patients access to appointments and primary care services. We can accommodate part time, full time or job share. Main duties of the job The role includes providing a patient facing service from reception for all patients whether over the phone or when the patient attends for appointments at the practice. Main duties include maintaining and monitoring the practice appointments system, processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional, processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail, taking messages and passing on information, filing and retrieving paperwork, processing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription queries in accordance with practice guidelines, initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team member and associated healthcare agencies and providers, and providing assistance to practice staff.
