The appointee will be expected to take on the duties of a specialist working mainly in Head & Neck, Uropathology, Lung, Gastrointestinal, Liver and Breast Pathology. Gynaecological histology and non-gynaecological cytology cover might be required. The Departments routine workload includes a broad spectrum of screening and diagnostic cases together with network, national and international referral cases. St Marks is one of the largest review centres in the UK for GI pathology, especially for polyposis, complex inflammatory bowel disease and cancer cases. The diagnostic workload within the Department for Gastrointestinal Pathology ranges from 13,500-15,000/year.
