Responsibilities and Duties
Reporting to the Area Manager, you will:
1. Line manage a small team of solar and BESS technicians by planning day-to-day maintenance routines, ensuring technicians adhere to HSQE requirements.
2. Manage rota.
3. Recruit and mentor technicians.
4. Lead safety briefs and toolbox talks, demonstrating and championing the importance of onsite safety.
5. Be a point of contact for the O&M Manager, Asset Manager, and other colleagues for any on-site matters and reporting.
6. Complete progress reports and other documentation.
7. Ensure the best performance of battery storage and large-scale solar assets.
8. Perform operations and maintenance duties across the portfolio of solar and battery sites in Grantham.
9. Ensure adherence to all HSE requirements when completing your duties.
10. Test both DC and AC systems, looking for faults and tracing issues.
11. Conduct firmware updates and use computer systems to look for issues with the assets.
12. Gain Authorised Person status after receiving training.
13. Consistent inspection, maintenance, and testing of the systems.
14. Look for trends and use data analysis to spot common trends and suggest ways to improve operations.
15. Occasionally assist with tasks such as solar panel cleaning, some ground maintenance, and site CCTV.
16. Be flexible to help when the business needs assistance outside your area.
Professional Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
1. Demonstrable experience in utility scale solar farm maintenance operations.
2. Extensive electrical testing, inspection, and maintenance experience on ground-mounted solar panels, inverters, BESS, and other on-site equipment.
3. Level 3 Qualified in Electrical Engineering or Testing & Inspection is essential. C&G 2391 or 2394 is highly valued.
4. Experience in stock ordering and ensuring spares availability.
5. Additional experience in HV switchgear or SCADA systems would be advantageous.
6. Full UK Driving Licence.

Salary and Benefits of the Team Leader Role
Starting salary up to £45,000.
