About The Role
SMT GB is seeking a dedicated Product & Application Specialist focused on Road Equipment. In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise to support sales teams and customers, ensuring they understand and can utilise our road equipment products.
What you will be doing:
1. Provide professional technical and advisory support to Road Equipment Engineers, GPE Engineers, and customers for Dynapac Road Equipment products.
2. Coordinate with the service and technical support teams, including conducting site visits at SMT locations or customer premises.
3. Assist the sales department with product demonstrations, technical modifications, and documentation preparation.
4. Investigate and diagnose repeat failures, liaising with relevant parties and providing high-quality reports.
5. Advise on technical warranty claims and procedures with suppliers and the SMT warranty department.
6. Deliver engaging technical training internally and externally on Road Machinery products, supporting the SMT GB Training Department.
7. Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
To excel in this role, candidates should have:
* Proven experience in the construction or heavy machinery industry, specifically with road equipment.
* A strong technical background, ideally with an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Engineering or Construction Equipment.
* Experience in delivering training to internal stakeholders and external customers.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
* Ability to engage with customers and build lasting relationships.
* Self-motivated, proactive, and a strong team player.
* Willingness and ability to travel within the UK and internationally for client meetings and product demonstrations.
* A valid driver's license.
Desirable:
* Familiarity with ERP systems and reporting tools.
* Knowledge of Dynapac equipment.
