Operations Manager Location: Hamilton International Technology Park, Blantyre. G72 0HT Salary from £43,080 with 10% Annual Bonus Permanent Flexible/Hybrid Working Arrangements Closing Date: 19th November 2024 Purpose The position of Operations Manager sits within the Smart Metering business unit, reporting to the Logistics & Operations Manager. ScottishPower will deploy Smart Meters to meet its mandatory obligation for Smart Metering. It will meet this mandate through the purchase, ownership and operation of these assets and has a meter asset provision business (MAP) to meet this commitment. The main purpose of the Operations Manager is to manage the billing process of monthly rental for currently 85 Energy suppliers in the UK, up to £100m per annum. Managing and improving asset tracking of all assets from initial purchase through installation, maintenance, fault management and end of life meter recovery, the Operations Manager will capture all asset information and industry flows relating to the meter for the purposes of billing and recovery of warranty claims from manufacturers, whilst managing the process to recover costs of meters removed from the wall prematurely and broken meter costs and managing billing disputes from customers. Responsibilities Regularly reviewing and assessing the design and implementation of the end to end billing process to maximise its operational efficiency and accuracy, the Operations Manager will ensure the monthly billing cycle including rental and income recovery from ‘Off The Wall’ meters is completed on time and invoices issued. Ensuring that all MAP systems are reconciled with available industry data, the Operations Manager will provide robust data and analysis on all assets within the churn process to ensure that all bills are accurate and disputes are minimised The Operations Manager will review and drive improvements to the design and implementation of an asset management process that tracks and monitors every element of the metering asset from initial procurement to end of life, the Operations Manager will review and maintain Key Performance Indicators and operational controls to maximise efficiency and compliance within the business. Additional responsibilities of the Operations Manager will include: Management of a team of 3 reports Ensuring all processes fully deliver all industry flows required by the MAP business Implementing a robust risk management framework for the asset portfolio Reconcile customer accounts, ensuring that all payments are received on time, contacting customers to push for payment as required Responsible for all aspects of operational processes and systems across the Operations Team, including all 3rd parties service providers Ensuring that all budgetary and performance targets are met on an ongoing basis within the Operations team Establishing, promoting, encouraging and monitoring high quality service standards within the teams to ensure that all work is of an excellent standard and that data collected and processed meets the quality and time criteria set by all contracted parties Ensuring all processes and systems are compliant with all appropriate Codes of Practice, Market Rules, Business SLA’s and KPI’s, Quality Standards, and any other agreed Standards of Service What you’ll bring Degree qualified with significant experience negotiating high value contracts, the Operations Manager will possess good IT skills, strong financial acumen and an understanding of cost and income drivers within an asset management business. With highly developed influencing and negotiation skills, including the ability to obtain buy in from all levels of the organisation and external providers to deliver effective operational processes, the Operations Manager will be able to influence and lead a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and suppliers focused on differing interests, requiring a high level of business knowledge, influencing and negotiating experience.
