The QHSE Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the QHSE support function, whilst promoting high levels of quality across all areas of the company. You will be required to lead and complete HSEQ inspections, support internal and external audits. Alongside this, you will be continually looking for areas of improvement across the business and implementing innovative strategies to help BCS achieve their companywide objectives. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong knowledge in quality control, particularly with operating in a factory/warehouse/yard-orientated setting. The candidate will also be required to support all the BCS streams on a day-to-day basis. Key Responsibilities: Quality Monitoring Develop and support the implementation of the BCS quality processes standards and accreditations. Carry out quality checks on manufactured products to ensure that they meet high-quality standards. Responsible for carrying out frequent internal Quality Inspections Ensure all processes are kept up to date and reviewed regularly. Following implementation, monitor the effectiveness of new processes/changes. Look for areas of improvement across the business. Ensure that products brought in from manufacturers adhere to our quality standards. Carry out supply chain audits where necessary. Oversee the calibration standards for the business. Investigate and troubleshoot product and production issues. Develop and maintain appropriate governance procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards. Health, Safety & Environmental Monitoring Conduct HS&E Inspections for BCS operating departments. Lead and complete HSE-related investigations determining root causes and supporting the embedment of lessons learnt. Chair and support quarterly QHSE committee meetings. Monitor and support the closure of Q, H,S & E inspection findings. Support BCS-related QHSE issues highlighted by the wider Barhale business. Attend HSEQ Team meetings as required. Attend weekly HSEQ Team virtual calls with wider Barhale HSEQ Team Business Improvements Look for areas we can improve on as a business and help to support the project manager in implementing change. Introduce innovations to the business. Examine ways we can improve production and efficiency. Complaints & SLA’s Responsible for ensuring that complaints are closed out within the agreed SLA and that they are investigated thoroughly, with corrective and preventative measures put in place. Carry out root cause investigations of HSEQ incidents, internal & external non-conformances, and non-conforming products. Fabrications Assist the Fabrication team with obtaining and maintaining accreditations. Ensure that Fabrication products are delivered to the required design and standard by supporting the fabrication team and auditing the pre-delivery quality inspection process. Escalate concerns and agree on remedial actions with the Fabrications team. Support the Head of Fabrications by carrying out specific quality checks/audits. Support the Head of Fabrications in developing new systems and processes to streamline the division. Support in developing contract-specific Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) for the Fabrications division, ensuring they meet the needs of the customer. Management Manage internal quality resources. Carry out regular 1-2-1s with direct reports. Support direct reports in reaching departmental goals. Carry out PDR’s annually and support the team in reaching their goals. Key measures & targets: Lead audits. Regular reviews of processes across the business Complaints closed out within 5 working days. Key relationships: BCS & Barhale Quality team Fabrications team BCS Management Team Barhale HSEQ Team Person Specification: The successful candidate is likely to meet all the following criteria: Essential Understanding of ISO accreditations 9001, 45001 & 14001 Previous experience in an HSEQ role with a stronger emphasis on quality control Great eye for detail Good reliability and integrity Good influencing skills sets and able to communicate effectively at all levels. Flexibility and willingness to adapt to different tasks and projects. Strong IT skills NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent Desirable Understanding of ISO accreditation 50001 Previous experience of working in the industry Educated to degree level or equivalent.
