About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join our team in our Plymouth head office. In this full-time role, you will play a crucial part in managing project costs and ensuring financial accuracy. While this is primarily an office-based position, occasional travel to sites nationwide will be required, offering you a balance between office work and site visits. You'll also have the flexibility to manage your own diary and workload.
Key Responsibilities:
* Take ownership of cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
* Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
* Develop comprehensive cost plans and project budgets.
* Manage subcontractor enquiries and procurement processes.
* Deliver accurate and timely cost reports to stakeholders.
* Contribute to the overall project efficiency and financial success.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Proven experience in cost control, cost management, and cost reporting within the construction industry.
* Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate BOQs.
* Strong understanding of cost planning and project budgeting principles.
* Excellent analytical and numerical skills with a keen eye for detail.
* First-class communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
* A relevant degree (or working towards) in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Solid understanding of contract documents and obligations.
