Job Title: Assistant Program Director

Job Summary:
Responsible for assisting the program director in the development and operations of an active recovery support center that develops and maintains peer-to-peer support services and activities provided for and by people in recovery from substance use disorder. Resume the role of the program director in the director's absence. Assist the Director in managing all peer supports and peer activities, and work with staff and peers to maintain project timelines. Oversee data collection and submission of reports. The assistant director also supports in overseeing data collection and submission of reports, supervises staff, and directly or indirectly supervises volunteers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Work closely with the program director.
* Oversee and provide insightful and clear guidance on all activities and operations of the Center, including staff support, member engagement, member volunteering, peer leadership; data reporting and surveys; finances such as budgeting and expense approvals; and fostering an overall culture of recovery and growth.
* Work with the center’s budget.
* Assist in the supervision of staff.
* Conduct staff evaluations.
* Manage the center during early evening and weekend schedules, ensuring operations, cleanliness, and equipment functionality.
* Ensure that program files are up to date.
* Maintain constant communication with the Program Director regarding the status of personnel and programs.
* Oversee the outreach conducted by staff and peer leaders.
* Provide supported referrals to members.
* Assist the Program Director in other responsibilities as needed and requested, including engagement with community and key stakeholder partnerships.
* Represent the center at local and statewide meetings and conferences.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Embrace and work in a culturally and linguistically diverse recovery community.
* Support all paths to recovery and have a minimum of 5 years of solid recovery.
* Have a comprehensive understanding of substance use disorder and the recovery community.
* Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
* Possess working knowledge of community building and planning.
* Demonstrate proven skills in critical thinking, leadership, and organization, as well as strong interpersonal boundaries.
* Have better than average experience using a computer and required software.
* Have experience and knowledge of the community, its organizations, and service providers.
* Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
