LB308 - Fire Alarm Engineer
Location: Bath
Salary: £34,000 + Company Vehicle
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Fire Alarm Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Investigation & fault finding on fire detection, alarm, and emergency lighting systems.
2. In-depth knowledge of nurse call and staff attack systems, including Intercall, C-Tec (Quantec), SAS.
3. Sound working knowledge of all access control and intercom systems, including Paxton, RGL, Fermax, Videx.
4. Knowledge of CCTV and intruder systems is an advantage.
5. Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance of all fire systems.
6. Be part of an on-call rota for OOH callouts and telephone support.
7. Repairing both conventional and analogue addressable fire alarm systems to a high standard of workmanship.
8. Understand the regulatory (e.g., BS5839-1, BS5266-1) and fair trading rules relating to their work.
9. Understanding the clients’ needs and fulfilling all jobs required while co-operating with all site conditions.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Excellent first-time resolution & risk management skills.
2. Excellent communication skills.
3. A proven background and experience of working within the fire industry.
4. Experience of undertaking service and repair work.
5. Experience of conventional and addressable fire systems across a range of manufacturers' equipment.
6. Good installation practices in accordance with BS7671, where required.
7. Good experience of nurse call systems of all types.
8. Knowledge of integration of detection systems into other disciplines would be a real advantage.
9. Full understanding of BS5839 is essential.
10. Detailed understanding of emergency lighting systems to BS5266-1.
11. The ability to be resourceful with a dynamic approach to problem-solving is essential.
12. Full driving licence.
13. FIA modules required or as per industry standards in accordance with the RRO-2005 for competency.
Desirable:
1. Advanced knowledge of Kentec, C-Tec, Apollo, Hochiki fire alarm systems.
2. Experience with Gent by Honeywell, VESDA & other aspirating manufacturers.
3. Experience of access control systems of all types.
4. Electrical or electronic systems background.
5. ICEL accreditation of emergency lighting.
6. Good overall fire product knowledge.
