Operations Manager

Role Overview
With guidance from the Operations Director and as part of a team, the Operations Manager plays a critical role in delivering the operational goals and targets of SuperCamps. This position is responsible for managing a hub of camps in London and surrounding areas, overseeing recruitment, planning, delivery of specialist courses, and ensuring commercial success within their region.
The role requires a proactive leader with a strong background in childcare, leisure, or sports, capable of managing multiple camps while ensuring the highest levels of safety, compliance, and enjoyment for children attending our programmes.
The specialist course element of the role involves managing specialist courses, including overseeing the recruitment of instructors and support staff, coordinating logistics for seamless course delivery, and ensuring that equipment is properly prepared for specialist activities.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management:
1. Oversee a designated hub of camps in London and surrounding areas, ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and adherence to Safeguarding and Health & Safety policies.
2. Manage the Regional Managers, ensuring high standards of camp delivery.
3. Be part of the DSL (Designated Safeguarding Lead) Team as a member of the safeguarding team to prioritise child welfare.
4. Ensure all camps operate efficiently, safely, and within budget, meeting company objectives.
5. Work alongside the Warehouse Manager to ensure the smooth distribution of programme materials and resources.
6. Collaborate with the Training Manager to train and upskill the management team to the highest standards of childcare and welfare.
7. Ensure a timely response to major complaints, accidents, issues on camp, equipment failures, and staffing concerns.
8. Conduct audits and performance reviews to improve camp operations and delivery.
Commercial & Recruitment Responsibilities:
1. Commercial responsibility for a hub of camps in London and surrounding areas, driving performance and financial success.
2. Manage a regional recruiter, ensuring effective staffing and workforce planning.
3. Set, monitor, and achieve performance and revenue targets per venue.
4. Oversee recruitment, planning, and delivery of specialist courses, ensuring they meet customer expectations and operational requirements.
5. Develop and maintain strong relationships with venue partners to support growth and operational efficiency.
Specialist Courses Management
1. Lead the recruitment process for specialist course instructors and support staff.
2. Manage logistics to ensure the smooth delivery of specialist courses.
3. Oversee equipment preparation for specialist activities, ensuring readiness and efficiency.
4. Liaise with third-party providers, such as Chelsea FC Foundation and Mad Science, to enhance specialist programme offerings.
Person Specification
* Previous experience in a Childcare environment, potentially in Leisure or Sport
* Full Driving Licence
* Able to effectively cope under pressure in a fast-paced KPI and target-driven environment
* Confident and professional verbal and written communication skills, with an excellent telephone manner
* A calm, measured approach to all tasks, with good attention to detail
* High IT literacy with strong skills in MS Office
* Previous Management and/or Operational experience in the childcare/leisure industry
* A degree in relevant field or a relevant childcare qualification
* An active interest in sporting or coaching

Salary: £ 35,000 per annum
Bonus Scheme: Our competitive bonus scheme is based on seasonal performance, with an additional overperformance bonus for exceeding targets.
