Repair or replace faulty wiring, equipment, or fixtures. Ensure repairs comply with safety codes and regulations. Plan and lay out new electrical installations. Recommend upgrades to improve energy efficiency or system performance. Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment and technology. Recommend and implement improvements to increase energy efficiency and reduce costs. Respond promptly to electrical issues that could impact production, minimizing delays. Use electrical testing devices to identify issues with circuits, wiring, or machinery. Ensure all work complies with UK regulations, including the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and BS 7671 Wiring Regulations. Conduct regular safety checks and risk assessments of electrical systems and equipment. Maintain detailed records of all work, including repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
Candidate requirements:
1. Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including motors, PLCs, and control systems.
2. Strong knowledge with cold storage and refrigeration systems.
3. Proficiency in electrical testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, megohmmeters).
4. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
5. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.
6. Good communication skills and a proactive approach to teamwork.
7. NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent qualification.
8. Valid Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) certification.
9. Inspection and Testing (2391 or 2394/2395) qualification.
10. Knowledge of UK health and safety regulations, including COSHH and risk assessments.
