Date Posted: 2024-06-18 Country: United Kingdom Location: BE Aerospace UK Limited, Nissen House, Grovebury Road, Leighton Buzzard, LU7 4TB Position Role Type: Unspecified Fabrication Snr Technician (Panel routing) Job Family Interior services and support Job Sub Family Operations Salary Plan UK Grade PM Job Code Provided by HR JOB SUMMARY Nature of Work As Snr Technician (Panel routing) the role will be responsible for machine preparation (change over), creating, editing and nesting of basic to intermediary level programs, proving out of basic to complex programmes and operating of production runs within our Hi-Tech machine shop producing component parts for the Aircraft interiors business. - Level of Work Responsibilities: - Preparing (change over) of a CNC router machining centre quickly, accurately, and efficiently to produce a wide range of panel component parts for low batch high mix production runs. - Basic creation, editing and nesting of CNC programs to maximise production capability. - Operate CNC router to produce production runs of parts in accordance with a daily production plan. - Support development of standard operating procedures to remove process variation and create training documentation. - Self-Inspection of repeat work using the appropriate inspection equipment - Perform regular Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) on the machinery. - Advise Team Lead and production engineering team of production issues and defects. - Supporting the Business in the implementation of Continuous Improvement to increase production. - Monitor and document operational performance and provide feedback to the Team Lead - Develop and maintain effective working relationship with peers and support teams. - Maintain quality standard through the understanding of the quality management system. - Adherence to all company EH&S and compliance guidelines. - Adhere to housekeeping, 5s and FOD rules ensuring a best in class organized working environment is always maintained. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Education Related Experience Subject Field Certification(s) / License(s) City and guilds CNC/NC qualifications or a minimum of 5 years relevant experience of CNC machining in a precision engineering environment. - Strong background in the use of CNC router machining centres - Background in the use of programming software packages such as (but not limited to) Mastercam, NX, Jetcam - Good understanding of machine tooling and inspection measuring equipment. - Strong attention to detail and confident with producing components to a required quality standard. - Ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings and data. - Strong EH&S awareness in a manufacturing environment - Ability to work unsupervised - Good communication skills (Verbally and written) PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Education Related Experience Subject Field Certification(s) / License(s) - Good knowledge of Microsoft office software - Experience of lean manufacturing techniques - Experience in completing projects for process improvement.
