Pay Rate: Up to £621.92 per day PAYE depending on experience
Hours per week: 35-37 Monday - Friday, normal working hours

The postholder will lead the Council’s public health services across the life course, communities, and healthy places including the commissioning and provision of evidence-based and intelligence-led services to protect and improve health and wellbeing. They will support the mobilisation and integration of recently procured public health services, improve physical activities, and embed health in all policies. They will provide public health expertise and advice to system alliances influencing the setting of intelligence-led priorities to improve health and wellbeing outcomes and support community development and empowerment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, manage and co-ordinate a defined service area or service functions with full operational responsibility and accountability.
* Effectively manage and control a range of resources (human, financial, technological) to provide and/or commission high-quality services that meet the needs of Dudley’s residents.
* Ensure effective and high-quality business and service planning processes, including setting, monitoring and recording of delivery against clearly defined objectives and outcomes.
* Ensure that the service(s) meet expectations and achieve service objectives through a proactive approach to performance management.
* Exercise any delegated statutory powers allocated to the post holder in accordance with the Council's Constitution.
* Promote and implement good employment policy and practice ensuring effective performance management and professional development.
* Ensure the effective and efficient implementation and management of change across all areas of service responsibility.
* Liaise and work collaboratively with other service managers to commission services that help deliver the Council’s strategic aims and objectives.
* Lead and ensure active engagement with external partners and stakeholders to support the delivery of the Council’s aims and objectives.
* Ensure that service provision is responsive to client and community feedback.
* Ensure effective communications within and across the service areas of responsibility.
Minimum Requirements:
* Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role or context, ideally within a public sector organization.
* Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite, Adobe Pro).
* Full UK driving licence required for this role.
