Electronic Customer Support Engineer

Our client designs and manufactures systems for their clients in the UK and abroad. They are looking for an Electronic Customer Support Engineer to join their growing team!
Electronic Customer Support Engineer Roles and Responsibilities:
* Provide support to our customers on site and remotely.
* Ensure that our customers have a single point of contact for after sales support.
* Ensure that customers are keeping all equipment operational and correctly configured.
* Raising any and all faults/issues and requesting return for all faulty equipment for investigation, track all faults to conclusion.
* Assist in the pre and post visit equipment maintenance and software configurations.
* Record the allocation of units, helping customers to organise spare units.
* Ad Hoc Production duties: Building/ assembling mechanical and electronic equipment, use of heat guns, crimping and soldering pins.
* Support the production team in quality checking / testing products before dispatch.
The ideal Electronic Customer Support Engineer will:
* Good communication skills (e.g. concise, clear, timely and appropriate media used).
* Knowledge and/or experience with electronics / electronic technologies (HW and SW).
* Understanding of Ethernet networks and fibre optic converters.
* Some experience with design of electronics components / design engineering.
* Have the ability to read Engineering drawings (reading of wiring schematics would be beneficial).
* Basic working knowledge of multimeters (preferably Oscilloscope).
* Ability to read and write detailed technical reports.
* IT literate in Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook.
* Be comfortable travelling to customer sites in the UK and abroad.
* Hold a driving license and a valid passport.
Working Hours + Benefits:
* Monday – Friday: 09:00 – 17:30.
* Subject to change, including evenings and weekends (Paid at a Premium).
* Offer £300 a weekend for a full weekend at a race track extra to their salary plus a day off in lieu.
