Job Description
Fidarsi are partnering exclusively with an established Challenger Bank to hire a Payroll Specialist. The successful candidate will manage the bank's payroll operations and ensure the delivery of efficient and accurate payroll services. As a key player within the HR Operations team, you will work closely with HR and Finance teams, ensuring compliance with all payroll regulations, optimising processes, and managing the day-to-day payroll activities for the organisation.
The HR Operations team including payroll are based in Manchester and follow a hybrid model of 2 days per week in the office.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee and manage the end-to-end payroll process for all employees, including salary payments, bonuses, and deductions.
* Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing in compliance with UK regulations (PAYE, pensions, benefits, etc.).
* Maintain and review payroll systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
* Act as the point of escalation for payroll queries and issues.
* Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure smooth cross-functional operations.
* Ensure all payroll activities comply with HMRC guidelines and other relevant employment laws and regulations.
* Prepare and submit required statutory reports, including RTI (Real-Time Information) submissions, P11Ds, P60s, etc.
* Manage payroll audits and ensure accurate record-keeping for internal and external audits.
* Work closely with internal stakeholders, including HR, Finance, and Legal, to align payroll processes with business needs.
* Liaise with external vendors, such as payroll software providers and benefits administrators.
* Respond to employee queries related to payroll, benefits, and deductions.
* Ensure employees are aware of payroll policies and any updates or changes in compensation.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Proven experience (4+ years) in payroll management
* Experience in managing complex payroll processes, including bonuses, commissions, and expatriate payroll.
* Proficient in payroll software (experience with systems like Oracle).
* Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, NI, statutory payments (SMP, SSP), pensions, and RTI.
* Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large datasets.
* CIPP (Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals) qualification or similar payroll certifications preferred.
* Strong understanding of employment law and tax regulations.
