An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the nursing team on Ward 2 which is a General Medicine Ward at Hexham General Hospital. This post will provide the successful applicant the opportunity to lead a team in developing their skills in a wide-range of specialties in order to enhance their knowledge of general medicine and aid their development in their nursing career. This nursing speciality provides opportunities to treat very different groups of patients. Ward 2 provides nurses with an opportunity to play a key role in the patient’s journey with good opportunities to build relationships with community colleagues to help facilitate discharges home. We have a friendly and flexible team of nurses already within the ward and would look to recruit a forward thinking individual who will continue to foster, demonstrate and encourage moral leadership and innovative practice within the multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Providing leadership to the multidisciplinary team
2. Planning and implementation of flexible staff rosters and annual leave
3. Maintenance of adequate staff levels and skill mix
4. Environmental assessments
5. Encourage and support innovative practice and multidisciplinary teamwork
6. Lead in development of clinical audit and guidelines
7. Lead in incident investigation and care reviews
8. Development of staff
9. Monitoring of staff wellbeing at work
10. Budget management
