Zanda is an Executive search partner that works exclusively with high growth start-ups as they look to scale their business with senior talent. Zanda partners with VCs, Founders, CEOs and CFOs when it comes to successfully delivering on key senior appointments.
Who’s the business
Zanda is partnering with a rapidly growing B2B SaaS venture that is powering ecommerce with its innovative AI integration to provide a seamless experience for its customers. The business operates with a B2B2C model and has developed a product that has gained traction and retention with top tier brands / retailers.
The business has recently concluded on a Series A raise from a tier one investor and is looking to accelerate its growth via product development, international expansion and enhanced sales & marketing functions. With circa 60 heads the business requires a hands-on VP Ops / COO to help pull everything together and drive the strategic growth.
The Founder & CEO is looking to identify a experienced operational lead to act as a COO Co-pilot to help them execute on their vision, and you will be driving all the teams internally to achieve company goals. You will be breaking down high level company goals into a strategy and execution plan, setting KPIs, asking the difficult questions, bringing different teams together and driving the decision making process.
What experiences you will gain
We are looking for someone with strong organisational skills who has previously run operations in a Co-Founder or CEO/COO role for a startup between the Seed and Series-B stages. We expect you to have the following operations related skills:
* Setting the big picture vision, north star metrics and ambitious goals.
* Provide a key partner to the CEO in all strategic and operational areas of the business.
* Connect data across the business, ensuring full visibility into the numbers and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
* Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing teams. Foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
* Supporting the business in commercial negotiations with current and potential suppliers and partners, with responsibility for legal and contractual agreements and supplier relationships.
* Bringing structure to meetings and decision making process.
* Setting priorities, KPIs, objectives for different teams/projects and then effectively following through the execution.
* Aligning different stakeholders and teams behind the common company goals.
* Building advanced financial models and supporting future fundraising efforts.
* Setting up company wide strategy sessions, incentives, rituals, activities to keep a strong drumbeat in the team.
What background should you have before you press apply!
* Energetic, hands on entrepreneur with strong organisational skills who loves building startups.
* B2B SaaS, AI or ConsumerTech experience.
* 10 years of experience in operations/consultancy/leadership roles.
* 3 years of early startup experience (Seed to Series-B) in a Co-Founder or CEO/COO role.
* Excellent communicational and EQ skills - internally and externally.
* Hands on by nature, innovative, resilient and agile.
* Strong experience driving sales, marketing and customer service functions.
