We are looking for two Senior Contracts Managers to join our Housing Repairs and Maintenance team at Bristol City Council. These roles are an exciting opportunity to lead the procurement of external repair contracts, implement them successfully within our service, and manage them to deliver safe, secure homes for our residents.
Our service is responsible for maintaining 27,500 homes for residents and leaseholders, delivering reactive and planned maintenance on an annual budget exceeding £100m. We are dedicated to providing high-quality repairs while ensuring value for money and positive outcomes for the community.
What You'll Be Doing
1. Lead the management of contracts for responsive repairs and planned maintenance programmes.
2. Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with council objectives and compliant with legislation and policy.
3. Use market intelligence to optimise spending, foster supplier relationships, and deliver value through effective tendering and contract management.
4. Act as the primary point of contact for all internal and external contractual agreements, ensuring governance and operational systems are robust and effective.
What We're Looking For
1. Expertise in procurement and contract management, ideally supported by CIPS membership or equivalent experience.
2. Proven success managing large service contracts and meeting financial, quality, and performance objectives.
3. A strong understanding of public procurement law, Public Contract Regulations (2015), and the principles of contract law and governance.
4. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with experience producing reports, tender documents, and strategic plans.
Additionally, you should have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and a commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion in your work.
