Senior Pharmacy Technician – Technician and Support Staff Training

Based at QHB, the successful applicant will support the management and provision of education, training and development for our Pharmacy Technician and Support staff groups, to ensure we maintain the high standard required to sustain and grow a stable, confident workforce, equipped with the knowledge, skills and behaviours to deliver current services, whilst developing talent for the future.
You will be a highly motivated and competent Pharmacy Technician with dispensing and accuracy checking experience, within a hospital setting, ideally with demonstrable evidence of training and supporting staff.
There is a requirement to participate in extended hours working including weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis.
Main duties of the job
1. Supporting the day to day management and delivery of dispensing and stores related education & training of Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians, qualified Pharmacy technicians and support staff.
2. Support the Chief Pharmacy Technician to develop and manage training plans and programmes to ensure that they meet the relevant standards, requirements and legislation both locally and nationally.
3. To support the transformation and forward plans of the Pharmacy business unit by identifying, training and supporting present and future extended roles for Pharmacy technicians and support staff.

Person Specification
Knowledge, training and experience
* Demonstrable pharmacy experience including hospital pharmacy experience.
* Computer literate with detailed functional knowledge of Word, Excel and a pharmacy computer system.
* Coaching / mentoring experience and / or qualification.
Analytical and judgemental skills
* Ability to identify and solve problems.
* Ability to identify an individual's training needs.
Planning and organisational skills
* Able to plan and prioritise tasks in accordance with departmental needs.
* Organisational skills to manage the preparation of training rotas.
* Can plan, organise and deliver training sessions one to one and small or large groups.
