We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Highpoint, a category C men's prison, located in the village of Stradishall in Suffolk, England.
Hours:
Working 37.5 hours a week, 4-5 days per week over a 7 day period.
Salary:
This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to £40,211 per annum depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
What you'll be doing:
As a Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Work within a multi-disciplinary team carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options.
* Undertake medication rounds, and assess and treat patients who may have undergone traumatic experiences and may be distressed.
* Assess patient's health needs using an evidence-based framework and be able to risk assess using sound clinical knowledge.
* Ensure that you assess the physical and mental health of prisoners on admission to the prison and throughout their period of custody so that any appropriate referral can be made.
* Be responsible for making a clinical judgement with regard to any immediate need and long-term treatment.

Qualifications required:
* NMC Registered
* Qualified Nurse
* Mental Health experience
* A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
* Excellent communication skills
* Good IT skills and IT literacy
* Ability to work within a busy environment
* Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a prison environment.
