Legal Counsel Location: Guildford (Hybrid with 2 days office commitment) Job Type: Full-time Salary: £80,000 - £100,000 pa (Depending on Experience) Join our Legal Department within the Technology Sector where you will provide comprehensive legal advice across various areas, ensuring the safeguarding of company interests and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role is crucial for representing in the UK & Ireland, dealing with external partners, and steering external law firms as necessary. You will be part of an expanding Legal Regional team, collaborating with lawyers across multiple jurisdictions. Day-to-day of the role: Provide business-oriented legal advice to all levels of management and staff. Monitor, research, and address legal issues within the company. Draft and review contracts, agreements, and corporate documents, including corporate resolutions and accompanying legal documentation. Ensure the implementation of internal policies and develop risk mitigation measures. Collaborate with the global Technology Legal community to enhance practices and procedures. Participate in cross-functional teams in line with evolving business needs and the regulatory environment. Conduct training sessions on legal matters. Monitor legislative processes both nationally and internationally, advising on necessary implementation steps. Required Skills & Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Legal Counsel in an international company, preferably in a technology / or within an IT capacity dealing with SaaS, software licensing, technology purchasing and licensing. Admitted to practise law in England and Wales. Knowledge of IT law. Strong commercial legal knowledge within a UK Company. Excellent understanding of the business environment and ability to work in an international context. Strong team player with excellent communication skills. Entrepreneurial spirit, well-organized, with strong negotiation skills and an analytical approach. Ability to work independently and serve as a trusted advisor to local management.
