About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Children’s Service Deputy Manager to support the management and delivery of high-quality care for children and young people. You will assist in overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and leading a team to provide a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment. Key Responsibilities Assist the Service Manager in the effective running of the children’s service. Ensure high-quality care and support in line with Ofsted regulations and organisational policies. Supervise, support, and mentor a team of care professionals, ensuring best practices are upheld. Develop and implement individual care plans to meet the needs of children and young people. Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times. Lead by example, promoting a culture of respect, inclusion, and continuous improvement. Manage staff rotas, ensuring adequate cover to maintain service quality. Participate in recruitment, training, and professional development of staff. Liaise with external agencies, families, and professionals to support children’s welfare. Handle any incidents, concerns, or complaints in line with policies and procedures. Requirements Level 3 or above in Children’s Residential Care, Social Work, or a relevant qualification. Experience working with children and young people in a residential or social care setting. Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and relevant legislation. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations effectively. A valid UK driving licence (preferred but not essential). Enhanced DBS check (required).
